Dr. Dennis C. Nystrom is a member of SRCTec, Inc.’s Board of Directors. His background in the defense/technology industry lends immeasurable experience and insight to SRCTec’s operations.
Dr. Nystrom retired as Vice President and Director of Strategy and Staff Operations at ITT Industries Space Systems Division. He led Eastman Kodak’s Remote Sensing Systems’ sale to ITT Industries, which resulted in the formulation of the Space Systems Division. Additionally, he led the Research Systems, Inc. acquisition by Eastman Kodak Company.
Prior to his role at ITT Industries, Dr. Nystrom served as Department Manager in three different Kodak units. He has served as Senior Vice President for Technology and Product Development of J.A.M., Inc. and led them through a successful Initial Placement Offering and built its federal government division. He also acted as President and Chief Operating Officer of Hansford Data Systems.
Dr. Nystrom’s leadership and wisdom also served the academic community as Professor of Industrial Engineering and Dean of the College of Applied Science and Technology at the Rochester Institute of Technology. He was a founding Director of the RIT Research Corporation and General Manager of the Government Programs Division. Prior to RIT, Dr. Nystrom was a Professor and Department Head at the University of Louisville and Southern Illinois University at Carbondale. Throughout his time as an academic leader, Dr. Nystrom has published more than 25 papers and four books.
Dr. Nystrom has been a consultant in strategic planning, policy development, and product/technology management with companies and agencies such as Xerox Corporation, Department of Defense and civilian intelligence agencies, Olin Corporation, Itek Corporation, General Motors Corporation, and James B. Beam Distilling Company, among many others.
